On the heels of a Zogby poll showing Governor Richardson as the most favorable candidate on either side of the aisle, University of Virginia Political Science professor and famed political prognosticator Larry Sabato calls Richardson "unbeatable"

What are the two reasons Sabato considers Richardson such a formidable general election candidate?

A new Zogby poll asked likely voters the question, whom would you NEVER vote for for President? It's not surprising that Governor Richardson was the most acceptable candidate of either party. Only 34% said they would NOT vote for Richardson. That is in stark contrast to the 50% who responded that they would NEVER vote for New York Senator Hillary Clinton. She's joined by Senator Mike Gravel and Congressman Kucinich at the top of the list of candidates unacceptable to the American electorate.

If the leading Democratic candidate can't even get a majority of Americans to vote for her, shouldn't we be looking somewhere else? A 49% victory doesn't give us the strong Democratic mandate we'll need to repair the damage of the Bush administration. We can't afford another razor thin election; we deserve a crushing victory over the GOP.

Governor Richardson picked up Nevada's Plasterers and Cement Masons Local 797. The Las Vegas Review Journal has this story about the endorsement. The LVRJ reported the Governor's acceptance speech,

"I humbly accept your endorsement," a jubilant Richardson told union business manager Marc Leavitt and hundreds of cheering union members who stopped eating hot dogs and hamburgers to listen to the presidential candidate who spoke to them in both English and Spanish. "When I am president, the secretary of labor will be a member of a union ... and I will fire all union-busting attorneys" at the U.S. Department of Labor and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration."

As the caucus approaches, it's important that Richardson supports increase the visibility of their support.
