The next Carson City Democratic Men’s Club meeting is scheduled for Thursday January 17th at 6:30 in B’Sghetti’s Restaurant. There will not be a guest speaker. However, we are inviting all Democratic presidential candidates and their representatives. With only 2 days before the 2008 Caucus, this is a great opportunity to hear the candidates’ positions on the issues. Enjoy pizza and beverage in a relaxed atmosphere. Everyone is welcome. This is the day we have been waiting for since the February 2007 Presidential Candidates’ Forum. All Carson City Democrats and those wishing to register as a Democrat are urged to attend their precinct meeting on Saturday, January 19, 2008. The doors at each location will open at 11:00AM. Precinct meetings will begin at 11:30AM. At the meetings we will voice our preference for the presidential candidates, elect delegates to the county convention, submit resolutions for the county platform, and nominate members to the Carson City Democratic Central Committee. You must be present to participate; there is no early voting or absentee ballot. If you do not know your precinct number or the location of your caucus meeting, be sure to call the Carson City Democratic Headquarters at 841-DEMS.
The Carson City Democrats will meet 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, February 6th, in the AFSCME Local 4041 Building located at 709 East Robinson Street, on the southwest corner of Roop & Robinson. We are honored to have Nevada's Attorney General, Catherine Cortez Masto with us for this meeting. She will be speaking of our recent Nevada caucus experience, her first year as our Attorney General and taking questions from those in attendance. Catherine's experience prior to being our Attorney General includes: Chief of Staff to Governor Miller, Federal Criminal Prosecutor and Assistant County Manager for Clark County. The next meeting of the Carson City Democratic Women's Club will be Saturday February 9th at Grandma Hattie's in the Conference Room from 11:30AM to 1:30PM. Nevada State Treasurer Kate Marshall will be the guest speaker. A brunch buffet will be provided and is $12 per person. All Democrats and friends are welcome.
