August 1st was the deadline for all Presidential candidates (Democratic and Republican) to release their detailed health care plans in order to have a chance at the endorsement from Americans for Health Care and the SEIU. Richardson's plan was released several weeks ago. The basic idea of Richardson's plan is Affordable Health Care for All Americans. So what is the Richardson approach to health care? It is a three prong approach:

1. Open up existing sources of affordable, portable coverage to more Americans
2. Help families pay for coverage
3. Provide relief from high health costs
