Dear Carson City Democrats,
We just flew into Des Moines from New Hampshire, and right now we're on our way to meet up with some Iowa voters. As I write this, we're pulling over to gas up the campaign van.
While I have a second, I wanted to share something with you: No matter what the media may -- or may not -- be reporting, the Governor is still very much in this race.
Let me tell you what the news media is NOT reporting:
At Keene High School in New Hampshire, people were so eager to see Bill Richardson they waited outside in the frigid NH temperatures for over 30 minutes to get into a standing room-only crowd!
And after he held a "Presidential Job Interview" at Concord's largest private employer, our staff literally had to drag the Governor out because the crowd didn't want him to leave!
Now let me share one more piece of news: A brand new poll out of New Hampshire says that not only are HALF of all Democratic voters undecided -- a THIRD of those who've picked their candidate could change their mind.
That's a wide open door of opportunity. And we want to sprint right through it -- and keep running straight on to caucus night.
That means getting the message out to every caucus-goer, recruiting 501 more precinct captains and sending out 600 more volunteers to knock on doors.
And that means hitting our daily $20,000 fundraising goal every day between now and Jan. 3 to reach $400,000 by caucus night. We need every supporter like you pitching in with another $50, $100 or $250 to make it.
We've worked all year to get ready for these last 16 days before the Iowa caucus. Everything is on the line. I hope we can count on you to stick with us.
Alright, we're all fueled up and good to go. Time to hit the road and head on over to another fundraising event.
We'll talk again soon.
